Free-supply ATM options for Australian businesses
A fact-checked shortlist of providers that publicly describe operator-funded or no-cost ATM placement — without invented ratings, US-dollar prices or pay-to-rank scores.

Short answer
Free-supply ATM options for Australian businesses
A free-supply ATM is an operator-owned machine placed at an eligible business without an upfront machine purchase. Our review of current official provider material found four clearly verifiable Australian options: ATMcash, Next Payments, Cashpoint Payment Solutions and ATM2GO. Eligibility, revenue share, cash responsibility, contract length and service coverage vary, so a venue should request written terms rather than choose from a star rating.

Definitions
What ‘free supply’ and ‘free placement’ mean
In this guide, free supply means the venue does not buy the ATM upfront. The operator generally retains ownership and places the machine under a commercial agreement. Depending on the provider and site, the arrangement may include delivery, installation, transaction processing, monitoring, servicing and cash replenishment. It is not the same as being given ownership of a machine for nothing.
The word free also does not mean every venue automatically qualifies or that every operating cost is identical. A provider may assess customer numbers, trading hours, venue type, location, security, power, access and expected withdrawals before offering operator-funded placement. Ask for every responsibility and possible charge in writing.
How we compared
Methodology: evidence before rankings
We reviewed provider-owned Australian websites for a current, public statement describing free, no-upfront-cost or operator-funded ATM placement for businesses. We did not use affiliate rankings, user-review scores, scraped directory profiles or claims from the supplied AI draft as evidence. Inclusion is not an endorsement and list position is not a performance ranking.
The review date is 30 September 2026. Commercial terms can change, and providers may make an offer after assessing an individual venue. Readers should follow the official sources below and obtain a current written proposal. ATMcash publishes this guide and is therefore an interested party; that conflict is disclosed rather than hidden.
- Current Australian provider website could be identified.
- Official material publicly describes free or no-upfront-cost placement.
- The offer is aimed at business venues, not only cardholders or banks.
- No invented star rating, price, transaction estimate or ‘best’ score is assigned.
Current shortlist
Four verifiable free-supply ATM options
| Provider | What its official material says | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| ATMcash | Free ATM placement for eligible Australian venues, including supply, installation, cash management and servicing. | ATMcash publishes this comparison; request written site-specific terms. |
| Next Payments | Describes free ATM placement with no upfront machine cost and a rebate or revenue model. | Its offer and commercial terms depend on the venue assessment. |
| Cashpoint Payment Solutions | Its public FAQ says it charges the venue nothing and pays the venue in more than 90% of cases. | That percentage is Cashpoint’s own statement, not independently audited here. |
| ATM2GO | Publishes a retail free-placement option with qualification requirements and profit sharing. | Its official page refers to minimum transaction qualification. |
Provider notes
What each option is publicly offering
ATMcash
ATMcash offers free placement, lease and purchase pathways. For eligible free-placement sites, ATMcash describes the machine, installation, cash loading, monitoring and servicing as operator managed. Venue suitability is assessed before terms are offered.
Next Payments
Next Payments describes free placement as a way for a venue to receive an ATM without the upfront machine cost, with revenue or rebate potential. Its public retail material also describes reporting and managed services.
Cashpoint
Cashpoint Payment Solutions states in its FAQ that it charges nothing and pays the venue in most cases. Because this is the provider’s own marketing statement, ask how eligibility, payment, loading and service apply to your address.
ATM2GO
ATM2GO has a dedicated retail free-placement page. It describes a qualification threshold and profit-share arrangement, making expected transaction volume an important question before a venue assumes it will qualify.
Why the original list changed
Names we did not present as current placement options
The supplied draft named ten businesses and ranked them. Current primary evidence did not support publishing all ten as comparable free-placement choices. atmx and Precinct are active Australian ATM networks, but their public positioning is centred on bank, financial-institution, property or network partnerships rather than a general free-placement offer to small venues.
Cashcard and Eze ATM are historical names that should not be presented as current independent choices. ATM Solutions was too ambiguous to tie to one current provider, while ATM Express shares a name with an unrelated historical business; without clearer identity evidence, including either would risk misleading readers. They are omitted rather than scored down.
Decision checklist
Questions to ask every ATM operator
Do not compare only the promised payment per withdrawal. A slightly higher share can be worth less if the machine is frequently empty, support is slow, the term is unsuitable or the venue carries hidden responsibilities. Compare the complete written offer for the same site and expected trading pattern.
- Who owns the machine, and who owns the cash inside it?
- Exactly which supply, delivery, installation and removal costs are included?
- Who replenishes and insures the cash, and may venue staff ever need to handle it?
- How is the customer surcharge set and displayed before a withdrawal?
- What revenue share or rebate applies, and when is it paid?
- Is there a minimum transaction level, shortfall charge or relocation clause?
- What is the initial term, renewal process and early-exit procedure?
- What response applies after a fault, cash-out or connection failure?
- Does the provider service your postcode directly or through another operator?
- Can you see monthly transaction and payment reports?
Venue fit
Which businesses are more likely to qualify?
Providers commonly look for repeat foot traffic and a reason customers will use cash nearby. Pubs, clubs, bottle shops, convenience stores, service stations, shopping areas, late-trade venues and businesses a useful distance from bank branches may be candidates. That does not guarantee approval: the provider still needs to model likely use and servicing cost.
Have your address, venue type, days and hours open, estimated customer traffic, existing ATM history and preferred installation position ready. Photos of the proposed position can help an operator understand power, sight lines, floor space and access, but a site assessment or landlord approval may still be needed.
Editorial disclosure
How to use this comparison
This is a buyer’s research guide, not a claim that one provider is universally best. ATMcash is both the publisher and one of the providers listed, so readers should compare its written offer with other current proposals. No provider paid to appear, and no hands-on performance testing or customer-review scoring was used.
Official webpages establish what each business publicly advertises; they do not prove that every applicant will receive the same terms or service outcome. Confirm availability, ownership, fees, revenue share, contract length, service coverage and removal obligations directly before signing.

FAQs
Questions people ask
Yes. Several current Australian operators publicly offer free or operator-funded placement to eligible venues. The operator retains ownership, assesses the site and sets the responsibilities in a written agreement.
Usually not. Free placement generally means an operator-owned machine is installed without an upfront purchase by the venue. Ownership, cash responsibility and removal terms should be stated in the agreement.
There is no defensible universal winner. The best fit depends on coverage at your postcode, expected withdrawals, service response, who funds the cash, revenue terms and contract conditions. Compare written proposals for the same venue.
A star score would imply consistent, independently measured performance data that was not available. This guide compares verifiable public offers and tells readers what to confirm, rather than inventing a numerical ranking.
No. Operators assess factors such as customer traffic, opening hours, venue type, location, security, access and expected withdrawal volume before making an offer.
In a fully managed placement, the operator or its cash-service partner generally manages the float and replenishment. Confirm this in writing because operating models vary.
