Licensed venues

Cash on site, at no cost to the venue

Eligible pubs, hotels, clubs, RSLs and bars can have an ATM supplied, installed and fully managed at no cost, and take a share of the surcharge on every withdrawal. Most venues are live within two weeks of the site check.

  • Free ATM supply, delivery and installation for eligible pubs, hotels, bars and clubs.
  • Placement planned around your floor layout — entries, foyers, bar ends and function areas.
  • Cash loading, servicing and fault call-outs managed through our partner technician network.
  • A share of the surcharge on every withdrawal, paid on top of the extra bar and gaming-adjacent trade.
  • Late trade, weekends and function nights supported with higher cash loads.
  • EFTPOS cash-out and alternative options where an ATM cannot be placed.

Gaming venues

What's actually possible in a gaming venue

ATM rules for licensed venues differ by state, and they change. Here's how we work around them instead of pretending they don't exist.

Placed away from gaming areas

State rules differ on how close an ATM can sit to a gaming room or gaming floor. We plan placement in the foyer, entry or main bar area so your venue stays on the right side of those rules.

Where an ATM isn't permitted

Some venues and some states simply can't have an ATM in certain rooms. In those cases we look at compliant placement elsewhere on site, or an EFTPOS terminal with cash-out at the bar.

Checked venue by venue

We confirm what's possible for your specific site and state before anything is installed — no guesswork, no machine delivered that then has to be moved.

Taking over an existing machine

If another operator already has a machine in your venue, we can review your current agreement and quote what a change of operator would look like at the end of that term.

This page is general information, not legal or licensing advice. Your venue's own licence conditions and your state's gaming and liquor regulations decide what can be installed and where. Tell us your venue type, state and floor layout in the form below and we'll come back with the placement options that fit your site — including cash-out alternatives if an ATM isn't an option.

Zero cost

Free ATM placement for pubs and clubs across Australia

Free ATM placement means ATMcash supplies, delivers, installs, cash-loads, monitors and maintains the ATM at no cost to eligible pubs and clubs across Australia. You provide roughly 60cm x 60cm of floor space and a power point, and earn a share of the surcharge on every withdrawal.

  • No purchase price, no lease and no service fees
  • Cash loading and replenishment scheduled to your withdrawal pattern
  • 24/7 remote monitoring with first-line fault response
  • Compliance signage and on-screen branding included
  • Revenue share paid on every withdrawal taken at your pub or club

Best for pubs and clubs that want income with zero cost, zero admin and zero cash handling.

Free ATM placement

Fixed monthly cost

ATM lease and rental for pubs and clubs across Australia

Leasing or renting an ATM gives pubs and clubs a fixed, predictable monthly cost and a larger share of the surcharge than free placement, while ATMcash still handles installation, monitoring and technical support.

  • Fixed monthly rental — no capital outlay
  • Larger surcharge share than free placement
  • Short and longer rental terms, including event and seasonal hire
  • Optional managed cash loading or self-load with your own float
  • Upgrade or relocate the unit as your trade changes

Best for busier pubs and clubs confident of withdrawal volume that want more of the surcharge without buying outright.

ATM lease & rental

Own the machine

Buying an ATM machine for pubs and clubs across Australia

Buying means you own the ATM and keep 100% of the surcharge. ATMcash supplies new and refurbished units with delivery, installation, staff training, cash-management guidance and ongoing technical support.

  • Keep the full surcharge on every withdrawal
  • New units with Tap & Go, HD screens and current security standards
  • Refurbished units for the lowest entry price, typically 6–12 month payback
  • Delivery, installation and staff training included
  • You supply and manage the cash float, or we quote managed loading

Best for high-volume pubs and clubs — 24-hour sites, highway locations and busy late-trade venues — that are comfortable managing a cash float.

State by state

Pub and club ATMs in VIC, NSW and QLD

Licensed-venue rules are set state by state. Here's what each of the three biggest markets means for your venue, and the sort of sites we already look after.

VIC

ATMs for Victorian pubs, hotels and clubs

Victoria has the tightest rules of the three — ATMs are not permitted in venues with gaming machines (outside the casino), so Victorian gaming venues rely on compliant placement in a separate area or EFTPOS cash-out at the bar. Non-gaming pubs, bars, bowls clubs and function venues can generally take a standard free placement.

  • Inner-Melbourne pubs and small bars (Fitzroy, Collingwood, Richmond)
  • Suburban hotels and bistro venues across the eastern and northern suburbs
  • Bowls, football and cricket clubs in regional Victoria
  • Function and live-music venues with late Friday and Saturday trade

NSW

ATMs for NSW pubs, hotels, clubs and RSLs

NSW allows ATMs in hotels and registered clubs, but not inside the gaming room itself, and cash-withdrawal limits apply. We place the machine in the foyer, entry or main bar so the venue meets those conditions while patrons still have cash on site.

  • Sydney hotels and pubs from the inner west to the northern beaches
  • RSL and memorial clubs across metro and regional NSW
  • Leagues, bowls and golf clubs with restaurant and function trade
  • Coastal and Hunter region hotels with strong weekend volume

QLD

ATMs for Queensland pubs, taverns and clubs

Queensland hotels, taverns and community clubs can hold an ATM, with placement kept clear of the gaming area. Tourist-strip and late-trade venues are usually the strongest performers because withdrawal volume tracks trading hours.

  • Brisbane hotels, taverns and bar precincts
  • Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast venues with tourist foot traffic
  • Surf, bowls and community clubs along the coast
  • North Queensland pubs and regional sports clubs

Local questions

VIC, NSW and QLD venue questions

State-specific answers on gaming-area placement, cash-out alternatives and free placement eligibility.

Victoria prohibits ATMs in venues with gaming machines outside the casino, so a Victorian gaming venue usually can't have a machine in the gaming area. We look at compliant placement in a separate part of the site where allowed, or an EFTPOS terminal with cash-out at the bar. Non-gaming Victorian pubs, bars and clubs can generally take a standard free placement.

Questions

Pub and club ATM questions

The questions licensed venues ask most often before an ATM goes in.

It depends on your state and your venue's licence conditions — several states restrict ATMs inside or immediately adjacent to gaming areas. In practice we place the machine in the foyer, entry or main bar area, and we confirm what is permitted for your specific venue before installation.
