There are two different Sydney requests behind the phrase ATM hire, and they have different answers. If you need a machine for a date or a season — an event, a market, a festival, a function, a pop-up — that is mobile or portable hire: we deliver, run and remove it, priced as a hire fee plus a transaction surcharge. If you need a machine in your venue every week, hiring is usually the wrong tool; permanent free placement supplies and services the machine at no cost to the venue and pays a share of the surcharge instead.

Which one you need
Hire for a date, placement for a venue
Hire exists for temporary demand. A market season, a three-day show, a festival weekend, a function, a construction or mining camp, a venue whose regular machine is out of service — anything where the need has an end date. You pay a hire fee, the patron pays a surcharge, and the machine goes back on the truck at pack-down.
Permanent placement exists for continuing demand. A pub, club, service station, mini-mart or shopping centre with steady weekly foot traffic does not need to rent equipment; a placement agreement gets the machine, the install, the cash and the servicing at no cost, and pays the venue a share of the surcharge revenue. Paying hire fees for a permanent need is simply a worse deal, and we will point that out rather than take the hire booking.
The grey area is a venue trading seasonally — a beachside kiosk, a snow-season venue, a stadium concourse. Those can go either way and depend on how many months a year the machine would earn. Tell us the pattern and we will tell you which structure costs you less.

Sydney hire runs out of our NSW operations base at Wetherill Park, which sits close to the M4 and M7 and puts Western Sydney, the CBD, the Inner West, the Shire and the north within a single delivery run. That matters for tight bump-in windows: a 6am slot at a showground gate or a time-boxed CBD street closure is a scheduling problem before it is anything else.
Where a site is genuinely difficult — a peninsula market with single-road access, a paved CBD site with a loading dock window, a park with no vehicle route to the position — we work it out before the date rather than on the morning. Positions are read from your site plan and confirmed in writing along with the access windows.
What it costs
Hire fees, surcharges and revenue share
A hire is an equipment hire fee plus a standard transaction surcharge paid by the person withdrawing, typically between $2.50 and $6.00 depending on the setup. On high-traffic events a share of surcharge revenue or a commission can offset or replace the hire fee.

Power and space requirements
Most mobile trailers and standalone units need a standard 240V power supply, or a dedicated generator where mains power is not available, and a flat, level area of roughly 4.5m x 3m with wireless network coverage. Where a site's Wi-Fi or mobile coverage is weak we bring our own connectivity equipment instead — we do not accept dropouts during transactions, so the connection is set up independently and tested before patrons arrive.
Cash loading and security
This is a full-service hire. We manage cash-in-transit, loading and monitoring, so your event staff and volunteers never open a machine or touch internal components. Positioning is agreed against your site plan, and delivery and pack-down windows are confirmed in writing rather than assumed.
Surcharges and earnings
Event hire is priced as an equipment hire fee plus a standard transaction surcharge paid by the person withdrawing — typically between $2.50 and $6.00 depending on the setup. Some high-traffic events qualify for a share of the surcharge revenue or a commission instead of, or alongside, a lower hire fee. Which model suits your event depends on expected withdrawal volume, and we say so plainly before you book.
